This is a 12 step program for loved ones who are Bush supporting Republicans.

Step 1) We will say it together, ready? Iraq was not involved in 911. Saddam is not Osama bin Laden.

Step 2) Say it with me now, Brown People are People too.
Yay, very good. 4 words. That's right, turbans don't magically turn people into terrorists or savage animals. Who would have thought?
You are doing so well so far. You are already ahead of 80 percent of Fox News viewers!
That’s right 80 percent of people who use Fox News as their primary news source believed either that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction (which it didn’t) The Iraq was involved in 911 (which it wasn’t), or that evidence linking Iraq and Al Qaeda has been found (which there hasn’t).

Step 3) Bush is not a conservative.
define the core valuse of the traditional conservative ideology:

-Less governmet? Nope! "the government is larger than it ever has been and even goes well beyond the Bill of Rights in many cases."

-Fiscal responsibility? Nope! "we are 8 trillion in the hole and government spending is at its max while taxes are being cut lopsidedly for the super rich. Nearly every state is in debt."

-Immergration laws? Nope! Wwe have open boarders, it's a drain on many services from health to social security and education, but hey it's chaep labor to undermind wages, take jobs, and sometimes smuggle drugs/weapons. NAFTA has created much of this not Mexico.

-Free market... hands off my business
Nope! Plenty of No-bid contracts in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Nope! Enron and Worldcom etc get away with insider trading and false accounting, millions lose out and nothing is done.
Nope! Select industries get subsidies and become government assisted monopolies.
Too much corporate welfare and bail outs are at record levels.

Step 4) Kerry was not a progressive but a Neocon like Bush. He was also for the war, the Patriot Act, and a zionist. Can you even name differences on the issues on foreign policy? More Un involvment? whoopty do, this was a choice between and ass and an ass hole. The same can be said for Hilary Clinton, she is a war hawk, Zionist Iran hunting Neocon just like the other two.

Step 5) Not everyone who hates Bush likes Kerry (or Hilary). It was more like Hate and Hate more. The choice was between an ass and an asshole and we got the latter.

Step 6) You don't have to be a Liberal to be an anti-Neocon. As shown above real conservatives are nearly opposites of Neocons.

Step 7) God does not talk to Bush
This one should not need explaining

Step 8 ) The US is not a Christian nation but a nation where many Christians live. The US is a Republic, The bible supports the divine right of kings, read Romans 13:1 or just think about King David, King Saul, or King Salomon, or any of the other Kings totally supported in the buybull. No where in the Bible does it talk about voting lol. The American idea is a step AWAY from religious dogma. A real Christian nation would be a monarchy. Oh that's right, that is exactly what we broke away from in England.

Step 9) Here is a short list of Lies the media told you about the war. WMD, Saddam capture, Links to Iraq and 911/alq'aeda/osama/terrorism, 'uranium from Africa,' torture is just a few bad apples, (congress tied to legalize it) and the oil for food BS.

Step 10)Fox and CNN are bias to neocons. They talk about celebrities more than real issues in the real world.

Step 11) The military is not a toy. Look up the word Profiteer.

Step 12) The election in Iraq was a farce. The Sunnis did not even participate in it. And the people who did vote voted between pre-selected candidates. Iraq is headed into a Shi'ite Theocracy as soon as the anarchy dies down. Most of Baghdad still does not have electricity.

Hey, that's not true. If your vehicle consumes more fossil fuels than the average vehicle, that means you're extra patriotic and that ribbon's just the cherry on top!

yes I am selling them. If you want any you would have to get some before I leave the end of July.

otherwise I will be leaving some with the band Nocturne, www.nocturne.cc and the singer will maybe selling them for me.

email an address if you want any 1 is a dollar but 10 is just 5 dollars.

that's because the shipping is the same either way.

Our border's a hell of a lot better place than Iraq or anywhere OUTSIDE the border I can tell ya that much. My grandpa would fucking LOVE that ribbon actually. He's kinda Isolationist-ish and he's always talking about our porus borders. He'd get a kick out of it for sure.

of course the border is better than iraq, it wasn't the bringing the Troops home part that "upset" me. It was what the ribbon implied. That instead of killing Iraqis, our troops will be used to kill impoverished, Mexican, refugees.

That's not really what I got from it. I more got "tighten the security on our borders". Which I rather agree with untill we get a better trade policy. People in our country illegally is only going to bring our quality of life down. And it's not like I'm some crazy asshole that doesn't care about anyone who's not American. I'm saying we should do 5 things: tighten border control, revoke NAFTA, stop CAFTA, end all unfair trade policies and put extreme pressure on the governments of Latin America to raise their citizen's quality of life before we even TALK about another trade agreement. And like in the case of Venezuela it wouldn't be too hard. Chavez would probably happy to see us in the realm of sanity.

So there's 2 sides to this and I'm starting to realize that when it comes to the American side either you're gonna be a hippy about it and be all for some border control but think that incidental failures in the control are fine or you're going to keep the borders tight to limit the negative effects on Americans. And I'm sorry, that also means they can't come over illegally. It's hurting American jobs, plain and simple. I don't hate Mexicans and I certainly don't blame them for trying to make it over to our country. We're living in extreme wealth compared to their situation and it isn't fair. But we have to come up with a sound solution that protects BOTH countries. That also meaning I'm willing to take suggestions. There quite possibly could be something I'm overlooking but that's where I stand on it now.

Heh, heh.. why'd I have to turn the "humor" bored into something so serious? Lets keep it light, eh?

I told my mom about them and although she's against Bush and the war, she still didn't like them... heh...

it's sad when a message like 'Don't kill people' can be found offensive.

No doubt. Kerry is definately a Neocon. I blows my mind how so many people got so passionately behind Kerry when he was the same thing as Bush on the majority of the issues.

It blows my mind even more that there are STILL people who think Saddam was part of 911. I guess people believe what they want to hear and a war is something they wanted when their poor wittle egos got hurt on 911.

Too many people approached the election with a "look how bad Bush is!" attitude when they should have approached the election with a "how much better is Kerry!?" attitude. People almost never looked at that aspect of it. Only bad Bush, bad Bush, bad Bush. Well any idiot can talk about how bad Bush is. It's trying to muster up a sound alternative that seems to trip people up.

Like, let's look at it this way: Would the Democrats REALLY lose votership if their candidate was more insistant on Fair Trade? Or if he/she took a stronger stand on The Apartied Wall in Israel? How is that a deal-breaker for anyone? Who's saying "Oh no, I WANT our Trade Defecit to be in the hundreds of billions.. no way.. not voting for this Guy! Bush (or Republican Candidate) it is!" Kerry didn't take that tough of a stand on either of those 2 issues and both of which would have got a lot of Nader and Cobb votes. But whatever, I obviously have nothing to say since the Democrats have been SO successful the past 25 years.

I sent the 12 steps to my dad. Talk about someone in extreme need of it! He is slowly becoming aware that things are not as they seem. However, his tv is stuck on Fox News, he likes watching that idiot O'Reilly and the rest of the bozos on there!

He still has some learning to do. Thankfully, I'm pushy! Sometimes, I swear ... it's the child raising the parent!

You should send your dad the movie Out Foxed it is all about Fox News.

I am sure someone in this group has a link to it for free.

My dad is a serious hard-head! We have political discussions each time we talk. The last one we had -- he did mention that he was beginning to wonder about Bush and his administration! FINALLY! It's a step in the right direction.

I've passed along the documentaries I've seen (including OutFoxed), the books I've read and now I send him my blogs and some of the bulletins I receive.

When he sends me nonsense, like one email had to do with "Bush is not on vacation, because Crawford is his home". I promptly replied back to him and everyone on his list ... "while he is the president, the white house IS HIS HOME". It is aggravating at times, but I refuse to give up!

it's not the Mexicans it is the location of Mexico, it is easy to cross there. Canada has the protection of absolutely horrible weather.
