Russia hates the US so it loves to do anything to piss them off. I don’t trust Saudi though. Russia wants a bigger hand in the middle east and the world. Power breeds power. Don’t forget Afghanistan when Russia was trying to get real estate.

I still don't buy it when the MSM (specifically newspapers) claim the U.S. and Saudi Arabia have "strained relations". When Bush visits the Crown Prince they hold hands, hug and kiss on the lips as Ventura said on Howard Stern. If anything this is probably more about the Saudi Oil fields than anything else. I believe the neo-cons are probably more fond of this Saudi/Russian agreement than we might think. It could completely protect the Saudi Oil fields during an American invasion of Iran.
