Quite hungry from a day of aimless walking, Yuki decided to eat the peach she had found floating in the ocean. As she brought it to her mouth, she once again admired its size and shape, and was reminded of the ample rear she possessed as a youth. Her first bite was a work of divinity—juicy and sweet and salty from the seawater. The second bite was even more delicious—clearly this was no ordinary peach. On the third bite the juices gushed from the peach and ran down her chin. The fourth bite was messier still, and by the fifth Yuki decided she could take no more and went to the water basin to clean herself. Splashing water on her face, she suddenly saw in the reflection the face of her youth. Surprised, she quickly chalked it up to a cruel trick of the mind in response to her earlier wistfulness. As the sun began to hide behind the mountains of Okayama, Haruki returned from the forest as he always did, with a grip of paltry branches slung over his shoulder. Calling to his wife, he was astonished to see a beautiful young lady seated in her woven chair. “Haruki-san!” she exclaimed in an almost coquettish manner, “How were the woods?” In an instant Haruki knew that this beautiful young lady calling to him in her almost coquettish manner was in fact his wife. Haruki walked to where Yuki was sitting and with no questions asked made love to her with the passion of a thousand dogs.
