Pretty good essay here, and a short read.
................Russia is no longer up for grabs like it was after the fall of the Soviet Union. Putin put an end to all of that. He reasserted control over the country's vast resources and he's using them to improve the lives of his own people. This is a real departure from the 1990s, when the drunken Yeltsin steered Russia into economic disaster by following Washington's neoliberal edicts and by selling Russia's Crown Jewels to the vulturous oligarchs............

Cool that the CFR is recognized as a major body of power here in this article. Hasn't Chomsky called it a "nothing organization" before or something

Noam has done that. He has also done the same with regards to the Trilateral Commission and the Bilderberg Group. He calls them nothing organizations and says any focus on them is a distraction.

no doubt chomsky is a gate keeper.
when reading his book 'fateful triangle' (the final edition was printed in 1999) he did mention 'new world order' twice. He did hint that Israeli PM Menechem Begin wanted to rule the world. He quoted a Jewish extremest West bank newspaper which said that if the jews did not rule the world they would be sinning against god. I'm sure chomsky accidently revealed too much. He said that the zionists wanted to divide Iraq into 3 cantons [for sunni, shia and kurds] ideally mutually hostile to each other! (just look at the manufactured civil war in iraq now!). The fact that he ignored the power of AIPAC is unforgivable. and claiming that israel was not behind the war in iraq is plain stupid with regard to what he said in the 'fateful triangle'.

Putin threw an Oligarch in jail and tossed Berezovsky out of the country and took away his media monopoly. That is why they hate him.
