come to think about it , the quran promises much to the believers ,not only virgins ,but the rewards are only given to those who earned it , and suicide bomber who kills innocent people will have to face god for his actions ,those who brain wash people to think that a suicide operation killing civilians is justified by god will also be held accountable . suicide is forbidid in the quran to be the second worst sin a man/woman can possibly commit ,the first is to disbelieve in god ,but as far as the quran goes , it doesn't approve of such operation nore does it say a suicide bomber will get 72 virgins . but anyone who does make it into heaven will get whatever then want , if they want 900 virgins then thats what they get .. if they want a palace made of pure gold ,its done . but only the righteous go into heaven also so ....be righteous first

Just to clarify. The word commonly used by commentators of the Quran, to justify 'virgins' is the arabic quriash word 'akbara', akbara literally means = of matchless virture or untouched by vice.

Interestingly this is very similar to the wrong transalation of 'maiden' to 'virgin' from greek to english, relating to Mary.

The point is an image of heaven is made for the rightous ones. Do you really believe that heaven has goblets of wine and honey and children and beautiful women etc. Dude I can just go to LA at night and find that.

My point is it's metaphorical, it's a statement that mankind can relate to something being nice. Who knows what heaven is or what it looks like.
