Why on earth did the British press link the attacks to the G8 summit and to the war?

Why the hell would "terrorists" not want debt relief? This is another scare tactic

Anyone remember when Israel blew up their own embassy in England and tried to blame it on Arabs?

The media is spinning the attack on London as "holding your resolve in Iraq." WTF?

Iraq didn't attack London, terrorist did or their own government did. This should not relate to the war in Iraq.

It comes at convenient timing when Blair is under fire for the DSMs and Rove has been caught narking on the CIA and spying for Israel.

Beware if Bush's approval drops below 40 we will have an attack here as well.

The attacks do take away from the issues surrounding the G8. If terrorists wanted a withdrawl of occupation from Iraq they surely wouldn't focus the world's attention on security and terrorism with the bombing of a London subway. Or would they? Many terrorist groups are just as tyrannical and oppressive as their 'infidel' counterparts. They might just want to keep the conflict at full steam to ensure membership. But who knows.

I'd imagine the shift of discussion from debt relief in Africa and climate change is due to the fact that Spain pulled out of the war in Iraq after their train bombing. I have to admit that was one of the thngs that came to my mind when I found out. But then I realized, in Spain, they were dealing with a government already committed to withdrawl. Plus, correct me if I'm making a bad conjecture, but isn't the British public at large (much like the American public) pretty obedient? I know Americans are pretty obedient of their government (not quite as much as Japan) but if Britian is anything like America, all they're going to do in the wake of a terrorist attack is rally behind the government. That's what happened to us. Much momentum and progress was stalled thanks to 9/11.

those are the exact thoughts that ran through my mind when I heard about this today.

And guess who received advance warning about the "attacks"?
Israel!http://israelnn.com/news.php3?id=85346
The Israeli Embassy in London was notified in advance, resulting in Finance Minister Binyamin Netanyahu remaining in his hotel room rather than make his way to the hotel adjacent to the site of the first explosion, a Liverpool Street train station, where he was to address and economic summit.

hmm... now let's recall some 911 history:
Do you remember the story about the 2 Odigo employees(Odigo is an Israeli-based "instant messaging" software company w/ New york offices) that received messages 2 hrs before the wtc attacks warning them about it?

what about the five Israeli army veterans that were arrested by the FBI after several witnesses saw them “dancing“, “high-fiving“, and “celebrating” as they took pictures of the World Trade Center disaster from across the river in New Jersey?

a lil suspicious don't u think?

(check this out: Stranger than FACT

so... Scotland Yard (london police) had enough time to warn the Israeli Finance Minister, but not enough time to actually stop the blasts or evacuate people before then?
that sounds a lil "iffy" to me.

I believe the second most said phrase with this incident has been "We need more police", I've also heard this over and over again the past few days on other topics. More attacks=more police. Hmmmm, let's nudge a little close to martial law please FEMA!!

Spain was pulling out of the War anyway. The new President had run on an anti-war ticket from the start and 98% of Spain didn't want the war.

saying that Spain pulled out because of the train bombing is US media bullshit. Don't fall for it.

You can look it up, José Luis Rodriguez Zapatero was against the Iraq war from the begining.

Yeah that's true. I guess it may have just been in the mainstream press (because I don't think I did much of my own investigation a year ago) that it was because of the terrorist attacks that Spain pulled out. Because I do remember the Socialist government being elected and them vowing to get out of the war.

So Ry, what do you think WILL be the effect on the British population due to the attack? Are they gonna put on a 9/11-esque blindfold?
