The Rev. Ted Haggard resigned as president of the 30 million-member association Thursday after being accused of paying the man for monthly trysts over the past three years.


I remember this kook trying to ague with Dawkins and tried to say eyeball could not happen by accident as if evolution even claimed that.

Well now Mr. High and Mighty is caught up in the Republican sex scandals. WHAT the hell is with all the colset Gay Christian Republicans?

I think what I find more disturbing is this church has 30 million members. Wow people are dumb.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Evangelist Ted Haggard admitted Friday that he bought methamphetamine and received a massage from a gay prostitute who claims he was paid for drug-fueled trysts by the outspoken gay marriage opponent.

Haggard resigned as president of the National Association of Evangelicals and step down as leader of his Colorado megachurch while the two groups investigate the allegations.

He denied the sex allegations but told reporters outside his home that he did buy the meth because he was curious, but he said he threw it away.

"I bought it for myself but never used it," he said. "I was tempted, but I never used it."

Haggard, 50, said he never had sex with Mike Jones, a 49-year-old male prostitute who sparked the scandals when he told a radio station he had had a three-year sexual relationship with the minister.

Haggard said he did get a massage from Jones after being referred to him by a Denver hotel.

I'm pretty sure I saw the same thing as you Ry, regarding the eyeball thing and argument about evolution. It was on a documentary here a couple of months ago. And, yes, this guy has weekly phone conferences with President Bush!

He came accross as really creepy when he was speaking. He was completely ignorant, spreading lies, and pretty fruity as well (not that there's anything wrong with that for the average person, but if you're an evangelical spreading the kinda hatred towards gays that they all do it's pretty damn hypocritical). I really got a bad feeling about him. Just the way he looked and talked and portrayed himself. He just gave me the creeps.

And yeah, he operates out this state of the art $20 million Mega-Church, and has a congregation of like 12,000 people and they all do their little hand waving and song and dance and praise the lord. It's a damn cult. The entire thing just blows my mind. I don't understand how so many people buy into the bullshit. It's really creepy and really scary when you realize how much this shit influences these people's lives and our government. I'm sure I've offended some religious people, but I really don't care. I feel very strongly about this. I think most of you are crazy...plain and simple.

This news about Haggard doesn't surprise me in the least! And the sad thing is, his followers will continue to support him, continue to GIVE THE CHURCH THEIR MONEY, continue to keep evolution from being taught in the schools, etc....It's disgusting! It's insanity! Ugh!

He looked like he was on meth in the interview but he may have just had a Jesus high from raking in like 400,000$ for his fairytales.

I went there for a "massage" ha ha ha ha riiiiight and he admits to the drugs only because his voice matched the recording and he had no way out of it.

then he studders when asked how he knew he had drugs and how he knew to go to him and then jutst says a "hotel" told me but he couldn;t remember which one.
