COMMENT: When NATO decided it wanted former Libyan leader Gadaffi out and their stooges in, the Australian Government supported the bombing of innocent civilians, the obliteration of infrastructure and the imposition of the current regime by outside powers, and it is this newly imposed regime which is holding this Australian lawyer without charge. Well done again NATO and Australia.

http://www.theage.com.au/national/carbo ... 20tu6.html COMMENT: Goodness, a truthful report about the real situation in Gaza from the corporate media. Is it too much to hope they have developed a conscience? Few realize that the water purity and plentiful supply in Gaza were renowned and were fought over many times in history, including when the WW1 Allies needed to water their troops and animals as they advanced against the Ottoman Turks. That once renowned water quality and abundant supply have been ruined by Israeli behaviour since 1948.
Gaza's children live and die on dirty water
RUTH POLLARD Too contaminated to drink and never in continuous supply because of daily power shortages, the water in Gaza is causing chronic health problems and contributing to high rates of child mortality.
http://www.theage.com.au/world/gazas-ch ... 20tlf.html COMMENT: This article is framed to create the impression that Russia is a bad boy here. It is well known that Russia and Syria have been allies for many years and just as we support and supply our allies so too do the Russians. The bad boys in the Syrian matter are the interfering external powers such as the USA and Israel who want Assad out at any cost. Who governs whom is no business of ours. This is a matter for the people of those countries and for the United Nations to take action if international Law has been broken. There are many, many corrupt and tyrannical regimes in the world and we support our own in Afghanistan.

http://www.theage.com.au/world/are-assa ... 20u6i.html COMMENT: The Federal Opposition has been chasing votes for way too long over the boat people saga. Mr Abbott must immediately allow the Opposition to support the Government's Malaysian solution. If it works this may end the deaths and in flow of boat people. If it fails the Opposition will be proven correct. In any case the Opposition must pass the Legislation and then, if elected next year, it can change the Legislation. The Opposition is cynically refusing to pass the Malaysian solution just to keep the boat people issue alive so that it can capture the media headlines and try to win votes, all at the cost of innocent lives. We are much better than this as a people.
