Not if you have seen other alien movies it was totally predictable and also I didn't like all the pro-chrisitan bullshit in it, or how the scientists act like a bunch of adolescents.

And Oh look weird alien snake thing, i think ill try to play with it and call it pretty. It's 2091 but we still use basic flash lights for light in a cave.

I've seen other alien movies and I still enjoyed it. I can't say it was totally predictable, as I certainly didn't anticipate the ending happening the way it did. Those other things you mentioned didn't really bother me enough that it prevented me from enjoying the movie. I was still thoroughly entertained and intrigued by it, which are what I look for in a movie. It may be one of the best sci-fi movies in over a decade, and as a prequel to Alien, i think it did a great job of tying everything in subtly, while still maintaining itself as its own movie. It's unfortunate that the same cannot be said so much for the Star Wars prequels, which ended up becoming almost nothing but tie-ins.

But, ultimately, it really comes down to what you look for in a good sci-fi movie, as it's not going to be the same for everyone. Prometheus is more of a subtle, exploratory-investigative sci-fi movie, with a somewhat surprise ending. Some people may go for something like, while others may not.

I guess if you are used to Star Trek next generation and people acting like adults its harder to wacth Prometheus. Also I hate religion so that left a foul stench in the room for me. It took a lot of stuff from alien as well. i guess if your not christian or were not raised christian youd miss all the jesus inuendo.

Well, Star Trek is probably the most logically-consistent future-setting sci-fi franchise there is. In terms of the characters acting like adults in a sci-fi franchise, Star Trek is the top of the line. You aren't going to get any better than that without going into a different genre.

It is a prequel to "Alien", and it's directed by the same guy (Ridley Scott), so it is expected that it would take a lot of stuff from it.

In terms of religion, I can't say that I have a problem with Prometheus making references to it. In fact, I'm somewhat glad it did, as I have not seen any sci-fi franchises address the issue much at all in their respective settings. I've always wondered why fictional depictions of the future never address where religion stands in them, even though over 70% of the world today, believes in one. I guess there's no way to do it without offending people. In Prometheus, (aside from having the main character be a Christian) it was portrayed as something that some people choose to believe in, which is more or less how its always been. That being said, all that Jesus innuendo revolved only around the main character, and it had nothing to do with anything besides establishing her character. If you hate religion, it can go a long way to enjoying the movie by not personalizing a fictional character's choice for having one.
