Not sure cause i've only visted the US oncewhen i was about 13. But from what i know and hear from other people the portion sizes are much bigger in restaurants. I bet that's a lot to do with it.

I'm a thin American. I also have strong legs. I can leg press around 410lbs as a max or used to be able to. I haven’t tried to max out lately. It may just be from leverage verses strength cause I’m 5’9 nearly 5’10.

I think American’s and people in general eat too many sugars/carbohydrates. Smoking to lose weight is silly. You may lose weight but your face is going to be pretty darn wrinkled by the time you are in your mid 30’s not to mention what your insides will look like. I used to like to smoke every now and then cause it would relax me. I haven’t smoked for years though.

Just work out, and watch what you eat (meaning the kinds of foods). Eating often and smaller meals (like the size of your fist) is the best thing to do. I’m naturally thin and have blood/stomach problems so it is easier for me than others to stay thin but I can gain weight if I eat crepes, Oreos, white donuts, and jalapeno chips (all my favorites) all day. Oh and those little raspberry candied coated gummies or white chocolate covered strawberries. I know my trigger foods so I just don’t buy those things that often only when I’m trying to gain weight. I do eat all the time though cause I get hungry all the time and like to snack all the time so eating 5-7 small meals a day is easy. I just snack on stuff like dried fruits, dried fish, and I love sugar free jello.

I think it is important that people take some pride in their appearance cause it is often a reflection of the way they handle other aspects of their life. If they look real messy, fat and sloppy, chances are they keep their home that way too. They also tend to not be real ambitious out of lack of love for ones self. There is the extreme where people are completely OCD about everything and do well in the work place but are not very pleasant people to be around cause they are annoying and don’t allow for any level of imperfection out of fear of not being loved if they aren’t perfect. I would say I’m OCD about certain things but sloppy about others. For example, I throw my clothes on the floor in my closet. I procrastinate at work cause I spend too much time online. I don’t care if my toenail polish is chipped or if I wear the same pj’s every night for week or don’t get out of mine all weekend cause its too cold to go outside or whatever. I think it boil’s down to how much one loves.

The bottom line I really don’t believe people are happy that are fat. Big isn’t beautiful. I think it is easier for women to be fatter than guys and still be pretty cause women aren’t hairy (generally speaking). If you are over weight, don’t feel bad about yourself cause that will cause you to gain weight, love yourself for being who you are and love yourself enough to feel you deserve to be healthy.

Unless you've live in other countries how can you determine what is normal and not. Fat people live everywhere. People are fat in the US because they can be. Other places struggle just to feed everyone and some fail at that. Consider fatness option a blessing.

Lol, Maybe so, I have lived in other countries but I don’t think my comparison comes from that. There is a difference in states w/in the US too. I have seen a big difference between just AZ, TX and IL. In Texas, things are for sure bigger. IL is pretty fat too. The southeast seems to be some of the fattest in the US.

I think one plus: America has one of the widest range of beauties too. Variety isn’t lacking in the US. I don’t think people can point to one look and say that's American but you can do that in China, Mexico, Holland etc etc

Why? Many dont find skinny beautiful. It hasnt ran me off when people where calling other women who are thin, girls with boy bodies which was pretty damn rude.

We cant agree on everything and if you have thin skin about something: dont talk about it or take it personal. If it really bothers you, figure out why.

It only bothers me that people say it's bad, not just on the forum, but in society too. We all have something to contribute to this world no matter how small or big, and I know many people who lost tons of weight, and they looked better big. I also know many who are just fine with themselves. I'm getting to that point now, but it's not easy, especially when I read things like this, because it makes me wonder if accepting it and living with it is a mistake or if I should just torture myself to make an attempt to look like everyone else. I'm beginning to find out that it's not easy to do either, and I'm starting to develop that "fuck it" attitude, albeit slowly. I just want to be appreciated for once in my life without being snap-judged. If it's not me being heavy, it's me being Arab. If it's not being Arab, it's me being a woman, and if it's not that, it's something else. Why can't we all just be happy with ourselves and each other? It's not like we got anything else going for us after this life. We screw this one up we aint got another chance. Live it to it's fullest.

No, a drag queen is a boy (meaning has a dick) trying to act like a girl. That isnt what I was talking about. I was talking about people equating women (w/a vagina) to a boy just cause they are thin.
