Do you guys understand what just happened. This is like Japan's Mike Gravel just won the election. The antiwar party just won the majority of the diet in Japan by a landslide. They pick the prime minister so it will be Yukio Hatoyama. Quote: "In contrast with the bureaucrat-led politics... we will produce politics in which the public plays a leading role." Yukio Hatoyama hates Neocons. He is part of 911 Truth, wants Japan out of any involvement shipping things to the US in Afghanistan and Iraq. Will get rid of US bases and base expansions in Japan. So many things are about to change. No more printing hundreds of billions to inflate the yen just to protect the US's mistakes. Yukio Hatoyama is set to be the next Prime Minister. His party now after 53 years has the majority and they are going to vote him in as the next PM. They won 300 of the 480 available seats! The Japanese public is over it. They are sick of Neocons and they are sick of following US foreign policy. Quote: "As a result of the failure of the Iraq war and the financial crisis, the era of U.S.-led globalism is coming to an end," Hatoyama wrote this week in The New York Times. But he also predicted that the United States, though declining in influence, "will remain the world's leading military and economic power for the next two to three decades." Hatoyama is who organized the aid to Palestine. And pushed to buy 20% of oil from Iran on the Yen instead of the dollar. He has his downsides as well, but compared to Aso, Fukuda, Abe, and Koizumi the guy looks like a saint. in other news Japanese yen gets stronger

I'm still throwing all my support behind Yukihisa Fujita to beat Hatoyama for prime minister.
Yukihisa Fujita wants an independent investigation into 911.

US Rules Out Negotiations With New Japan Govt on Base Deal Posted By Jason Ditz On September 1, 2009 @ 7:31 pm In Uncategorized | 3 Comments In a statement issued today by the State Department, the United States ruled out holding negotiations with the new Japanese government about a deal it had negotiated with the previous government to pay billions of dollars in return for a slight decrease in US troop presence on the island of Okinawa. Instead they say they hope the new officials will “moderate” their position. The opposition Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ) took power this week in a landslide election victory over the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), and ran on a platform of condemn the LDP for, among other things, letting the US dictate its foreign policy. Japan’s incoming Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama has called for a review of the bases agreement, as well as a broader review of the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) with the United States and the complete closure of the Okinawa base. The party has also promised to end the Japanese military’s role in the Afghan War by the end of the year. The LDP had held a virtually unbroken hold on power in Japan for over 50 years, and analysts are calling the vote the most significant shift of power in the nation since the end of World War 2. Though the DPJ has said it wants to maintain friendly relations with the US, it seems unlikely the US is going to take its call for a more even-handed relationship lying down. Quote: complete closure of the Okinawa base. The party has also promised to end the Japanese military’s role in the Afghan War by the end of the year. Awesome. And this will help the US too because there is no need to dump money into another base in Japan. The US should close ALL it's bases in Japan and Germany too for that matter.

Unfortunately I don't think the US Gov. can see reason and accept this scenario, all they understand is more power and Japan's new plans will diminish that. I hope Japan succeeds in there plans, that would be Awesome

Here's a little article I found that's very strange to say the least!?. http://www.reuters.com/article/newsOne/idUSTRE5812DV20090902new first lady says rode UFO to Venus Wed Sep 2, 2009 7:33am EDT TOKYO (Reuters) - Japan's next prime minister might be nicknamed "the alien," but it's his wife who claims to have had a close encounter with another world. "While my body was asleep, I think my soul rode on a triangular-shaped UFO and went to Venus," Miyuki Hatoyama, the wife of premier-in-waiting Yukio Hatoyama, wrote in a book published last year. "It was a very beautiful place and it was really green." Yukio Hatoyama is due to be voted in as premier on September 16 following his party's crushing election victory over the long-ruling Liberal Democratic Party on Sunday. Miyuki, 66, described the extraterrestrial experience, which she said took place some 20 years ago, in a book entitled "Very Strange Things I've Encountered." When she awoke, Japan's next first lady wrote, she told her now ex-husband that she had just been to Venus. He advised her that it was probably just a dream. "My current husband has a different way of thinking," she wrote. "He would surely say 'Oh, that's great'." Yukio Hatoyama, 62, the rich grandson of a former prime minister, was once nicknamed "the alien" for his prominent eyes. Miyuki, also known for her culinary skills, spent six years acting in the Takarazuka Revue, an all-female musical theater group. She met the U.S.-educated Yukio while living in America.
