Sounds like real talk right here. I'm against all oppressive authoritarian systems.

you reckon?

in places like iran and saudi they have "morality cops" arresting women for showing a bit of ankle. Do you think such fucked up cops would exist if most women wore it by choice?

the headscarf/jilbab is by far the most ugliest and most uncomfortable attire ever invented, seriously how many women do you think choose to wear it? from my experience most are forced and behind their parents back wear what they want. i use to have arguments that lasted for up to 4 hours because i did not want to wear the headscarf, and that was on top of the usual arguments families have. A couple a weeks ago i was going to the job centre, my dad was going to the same place, he refused to walk with me and went a different route because i did not wear a headscarf, even though i must have told him a thousand times i am an atheist.

Why shouldn't people hold islam responsible for honour killings? it mostly happens in their communities. Its a bit naive to say "they happen all over the world" while ignoring the fact that honour killings in the west are carried out by immigrants/ethnic minorities who are almost always muslims. I don't know any freshy immigrant imam that has ever condemned honour killings, and i doubt you do either.

I consider judaism responsible for zionism even though not all jews are zionists. I see no reason why people should not see islam responsible for honour killings. These people that carry out such atrocious crimes cite islam as a justification. And the punishment for adultery in islam is stoning to death. For sex before marriage it is 100 lashes. I'm sure the muslim members have read about it so i won't bother quoting the scriptures. I can see why so many muslims think that honour killings are ok, a 100 lashes is enough to kill a person or cause severe injury for life.

turkey is a secular country where many muslims drink alcohol and eat pork and shit like honour killings are the norm. its beyond belief :o

I don't get this. Abortion is supposed to be something you do after the fact in an unwanted pregnancy not something you plan ahead of time. Why don't you just get sterilized if you don't want more children, or use some sort of birth control? Hell take a gardasil hpv shot, that'll probably eliminate your chances of ever getting pregnant again . Kidding about that part but for the rest I'm serious.

Why not just let women do whatever they want with their bodies, including planning abortions before getting pregnant, as weird as it sounds?

I'm not even debating the 'it's the woman's body' belief, I'm just asking why would one plan ahead for an abortion when there's other more sensible options to prevent pregnancy and continue having sex. Hell why would you want to go through the surgical procedure yourself unnecessarily?

Hi Dave,

This quote is in the context of the conversation I was having with Neo. His point was that women have abortions to “save” their honor. I was making the point that many women have abortions not because they got pregnant too young, not because they slept around, not because it was the result of any sexual misconduct but because it was simply an accident and for whatever the reason they decided to have an abortion.

I’m not sure why one would “plan” to have an abortion. Most likely one would “plan” not to get pregnant as I do.

Birth Control doesn’t always work, many perception birth controls pills etc cause other side effects that many women cant handle due to other underlining medical conditions or just it's too harsh on their body. Birth control is still a chemical with very real side effects.

It’s rather an extreme measure for women to become sterile and tad easier for a man. But nonetheless, people change their minds about ideas that they once held too. I may (for some odd reason) decide I want to have another child and same with my husband.

There are effective ways not to get pregnant and I use them but if they fail at this point I would have an abortion.

Why not just keep the child? What's so bad about life? I don't understand how heartless reckless murderers like yourself could kill their own seed, their own flesh and blood.

It pains me a little each month when I lose my seed too. I shed a small tear and make sure to tip a 40.

Meanwhile, I continue to be a great parent to my real son and understand that I couldn’t be a great parent to a small child right now. I further understand that pro-life really means the care for the living and being a good parent not some half-ass parent just cause I got pregnant. Get over it!@

Monthly cycles are potential life.
Being a parent to a child has nothing to do with stopping the production of another one.

cant we just look at this abortian thing as a personal choice of the parent rather then arguing if its right or wrong?

That is how it is looked at, but more importantly that is what is done in real life. Women are free to have abortions and that wont change.

I just wish the reality of honor killing would change.
