And do you still smoke? this was written like past tense but I don't know if that is because it describes when you started or if it is also because you quit now.

Because another thing I'd like to know is who smoked and then quit and what did you do to quit.

Yeah, I'm back to smoking again. I've quit a few times(5, maybe?) but for some reason right around the 9th month after I quit I wind up falling back into it. Sometimes it's a bit sooner, other times it's longer. I think 11 months is the farthest I've gone. But I'll probably try again at the end of January. Easiest to quit when it's cold out because I don't smoke in my house. And I think we've discussed before our feelings on smoky bars/restaurants. I hate them.

Marvel tackles smoking. (This is an old issue) On the top left is a stamp from the American cancer society. Although Marvel focussed more o the immediate effects smoking would have on things like sports.

wow you guys really gotta check out these collaboratives in L.A.. I found this one spot in Eagle Rock(5mins away from home) called House of Kush. Customers rolling in every minute to the small waiting room. It was my first time there so i had to fill out a form and register. I was so anxious to find out what was behind the door. When i was finished i was let thru and OMG... i will explain the rest later.

So that we won't live long enough to see every wild species die, the rainforest turn to a desert, california burn down, etc.

This guy put it well....................

But the motherfuckers in climate-change denial seem willing and able to take (no) responsibility for their intransigence. Via Grist:
"The science is complex but the facts are clear. The world needs to take steps to limit temperature rises to 2C, an aim that will require global emissions to peak and begin falling within the next 5-10 years. A bigger rise of 3-4C — the smallest increase we can prudently expect to follow inaction — would parch continents, turning farmland into desert. Half of all species could become extinct, untold millions of people would be displaced, whole nations drowned by the sea. The controversy over emails by British researchers that suggest they tried to suppress inconvenient data has muddied the waters but failed to dent the mass of evidence on which these predictions are based.
Those are pretty horrific stakes. The deniers won't probably live long enough to reckon with the consequences of their own venality, dishonesty, and cowardice. But one could be forgiven, I think, for hoping their children and grand-children are among the first victims of whatsoever ensues...

The thing is, it is true. The fate of the rest of the whole fucking WORLD--all its people, all species of life, the oceans, the forests, the rivers, the glaciers, the whole fucking thing--is held hostage to the narrow, blinkered, parochial, corrupt, psychotic, bottom-line, deranged, short-sighted, venal, quarterly-report "politics" of the USofA's entrenched oiligarchy

I cant imagine this is the case. Ive tried cigs and chewing tobacco. Both made me sick. Now every so often Ill have a cigar, but I dont inhale or it makes me sick. Mostly for the fact that im just smoking a cigar.

The science for global warming shows that man has nothing to do with it. You're not the center of the universe after all. But I think it appeals to narcissistic people. It's a fact that the earth was in the same cycles over and over again long before people even existed. It's a fact that CO2 is used by plants who in turn produce oxygen. the best way to lower CO2 if you wanted to would be to plant more trees and use less paper. It's a fact that the government is using a scare tactic AGAIN to push for a global carbon tax BUT is allowing big businesses to purchase allotments to increase their allowed volume of carbon production. Thus they can simply swallow the allotments from smaller businesses to shut them down still produce as much as they want but now have monopolies. That is what is complicates the politics not the science. The science is clear as day. You measure temperatures yo get a graph. It's a fact that the earth has been getting cooler for the past ten years straight each year cooler than the last.

You Global warming freaks aren't listening to the science because you WANT to bitch about how people live and you WANT to feel smug in renunciation and condemnation for pollution etc. And you really don't have to sacrifice anything in the way you already live because you don't own anything anyway. No one is saying poeple should pollute or waste gas etc. If not for the environment then for the money you could save. But the reason not to is not because of global warming. And yes WHY someone is doing it matters because this global warming hype is allowing governments to create business monopolies.

You idiots are falling for this like Y2K, WMDs, or Bird flu set to kill 72 million. None of them ever came because none of them were ever based on evidence. They were always based on fear.

Washington DC passed medical marijuana
http://www.commondreams.org/newswire/2009/12/14-5

Now if they did this so easily and silently in D.C. why can't congress just do it for the whole nation?

It would be great if the whole nation legalizes. This will be a step toward the creation of an entirely new agricultural market followed by the creation of products utilizing the materials from the new agricultural market followed by business creation and jobs followed by tax revenue.
