I remember seeing that segment when it aired, and I agree that it makes Ahmad look good, but that brings up my logical dissonance here. It don't make sense. Here's a leader (albeit a ceremonial one, except for his control of the revolutionary guards) who presides over a country that has the death penalty and applies it to young men who happen to be gay, who questions the truthfulness of the holocaust and holds a conference to hilight this, who apparently uses torture...not just from reports about jailed dissidents but I don't think those Brit sailors would ever have admitted what they did unless they were tortured (even tho' what they admitted is most likely true). I can't figure it out. Could it be that Ahmad is just like Bush....dumb as a bag of hammers?
Iran took those sailors when they were probably dangled out as bait by the Brits. Why did the frigate that launched the rubber boats leave them and go over the horizon? It had to be planned. Why did the Iranians bite? There's more to all this that meets the eye.
