OK be sure to forward this to friends. Here is a link providing the text of the bill and the committees. We have two committees to contact, in the HOUSE not That's House Judiciary and House Natural Resources.
What we need people to do is not just request support for the bill but to explain the situation to whoever is on the phone because they simply don't understand it and have nothing they will read about it. So I stress to hit the members of these committees with faxes. Pour it all out on paper. Let them know the effects on the economy, tourism, enjoyment, other animals, etc and also let them know that it is our LEGAL right to have a RECREATIONAL park which should not have been ordained suddenly as a wild life refuge by an activist judge with an unethical history. The government made promises to us and indirectly to all our visitors, that the beaches in question would remain recreational parks.
No one is allowed to build or develop inside the national park, because it's purpose is to be and remain a PUBLIC Recreational area. It is not meant to be restricted from the public completely only from privatization and development. And what we have here is a historically public recreational area which is interwoven into the economic and cultural evolution of the Island. We have a dependency on beach access for recreational use and as an attraction for vital, seasonal, business in our tourist economy.
To remove our economic life line and historic way of life is akin to the US intentionally shooting buffalo in order to destroy life line of economic subsistence and the cultural way of life for Western American Indians, as a means of acquiring land and driving the native inhabitants off of it. People in Hatteras are already being forced to commute or move to find work elsewhere, and staple businesses are closing down or downsizing to the point minimal employment.
Congress has to know what is happening. Don't let thieves, hide behind the mask of environmentalism. We are human beings and we are more important than the hobbies of an interest group infatuated with birds.

Sloganeering is powerful. It's about all congress people listen to these days.
Recreation not Segregation. We should be interacting with nature not be separated from it. This is a powerful way to communicate our position in a way that environmentalists will keep their ears open to long enough to hear us out.
I'd like to see signs pop up the way they do for No OLF. Recreation not Segregation Open the Beach Creating a slogan will help us use the lemming effect in our favor. The more people see public displays, the larger our movement looks and the larger our voice will become.
Pictures can then be taken and faxed to our representatives. It's juicy for the news sound bites. And it allows our representatives to slap something down on the table and say hey look at what is going on down there.
If we can get the opposition to listen then we win. Because we have every legal, rational, economic, historic, and personal right to go to our own beach. All they have is propaganda. We just have to get our foot in the door and make the Democrats and a few Republicans listen to us.

From ROn Patozz
Brother, I am Skypeless. Just a little 411: Long Beach Island is a typical barrier island, approximately 18 miles long and 4 to 10 blocks wide. There is only a single road access onto the center of the island from the mainland. Most of LBI is inhabited, with approximately 20 little towns dotted north to south. Although the entire beach is "public", many of the northern beaches have very limited access due to private property, and parking restrictions along the main road...You have to hike from a public access point to enjoy those areas. The southern most region, known as Holgate Beach to Beach Haven Inlet is the area affected by the pickled pecker. This stretch covers approximately 2+ miles of beach.
We have a small house on LBI that my wife and I purchased 8 years ago. And although I have been vacationing on LBI since I was a little guy, I know little about how and when they put the "law" into place. I am sure it is tied into its status and funding as a National Wildlife Refuge. This is one of the nicest portions of beach on the island with a southeastern exposure. It is a favorite surf break, beach combing, and fishing spot for locals and visitors alike. While the beach is open to foot and vehicle traffic (Oct 1 - April 30) you may not bring dogs or metal detectors. And of course, like all areas of the island, the dunes are already off limits and carry heavy fines if trespassed upon. If you look on the general area map you will see the southern most portion of the island is part of the Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge. The General Area Map is about 4/5's of the way down the page on the following link.
All that being said, my understanding is that this protected shorebird nests in the dune areas, not within the tide line. When open, foot and vehicle traffic is restricted to the "beach"...So my question has always been WHY THE CLOSURE?! You probably have more research under your belt on this issue than I do. I think ours in NJ is a lost cause, but I will be happy to support you in your efforts when I am not trying to take back our country from the neocons, the zionists, and the Communists. We'll make a little noise from PA if you think it will help.
Finally, great channel. Keep up the good work. It is a tall order trying to educate sheep. I have dedicated my life to securing liberty for my children and future generations. I will educate as many people as I can along the way. If you are not already, please join Campaign for Liberty and look me up there under the same name: robpatozz. Thanks for reaching out.

Obviously a committee selected by the park service is about as valid as asking two wolves and a sheep to vote on what's for dinner.
This issue should even be up to self appointed committees. The LAW states that Cape Hatteras National Parks are recreation areas. The park service is to maintain access to these recreational areas not negotiate as to how much of the year they will remain recreational or with what restrictions.
Not one member on the Park Services committee to "represent people with different stakes" is a native not ONE! And they don't represent the interest of the people on the Island and the few who do normally just sit there like cowards trying to grab straws and pick up crumbs from under the table instead of letting them have it.
Every meeting I went to I was censored from speaking and not allowed to film. And they have to have half the police fore there with them, because they know what they are doing in criminal.
Look everyone let's make this clear. The Park Service is NOT and never has been on our side. The Park Service got 371 thousand dollars to police this thing and that money did not go to cops it went to their general fund meaning their own bonuses and administrative payroll.
The goal is to Privatize a formerly publicly accessible beach and profit from either parking or permits to go to the beach. That is what they are really doing and we all know it.
These little men sit up there on TV arguing endlessly about semantics and their judgments of how they are going to rule over YOUR livelihood. They have no right or jurisdiction. The purpose of the Park Service in regards to our Federally created Nation Recreational Areas is to maintain access. And they are doing nothing but restricting it. The Wildlife kooks have no claim to the area no matter what birds live there because it is not a wild life preserve it is a preservation of nature FOR THE PURPOSE OF RECREATION. That is the LAW.

I called and talked to congress yesterday. HR 718 is now in the sub committee for National Parks.
The head of this is named Raúl M. Grijalva from Arizona. Here is his address and contact information. Call and say you know he is busy and you appreciate him trying to get our money back from AIG and dealing with the quasi-communist style bailouts, but if he wants an easy fight that will make a lot of people happy and drastically improve our livelihoods, just pass HR 718 and save the vacation spots of Hatteras and Ocracoke Islands.
To reduce the argument to a few sentences. It's a recreational park, created for the purpose of outdoor activities, and it is not and never has been a wild life refuge, that's what Pea Island is for. All the villages depend on this National Recreational Park being open to (humans) the public because it's the driving force for tourism and because it's just part of our natural rights to have the access that was promised to us.
Raúl M. Grijalva 1440 Longworth HOB Washington, DC 20515 ph (202) 225-2435 fax (202) 225-1541
Faxes are good because we don't always know if telephone messages actually get passed on or not. So call, but do send faxes as well. -Ryan Dawson

Well that was fast in 2 days they got it in and out of National Parks now HR 718 is in the Courts and Competition committee. (that's good)
If you really really want the beaches open then call them all. Just explain that this is NOT a development vs environment issue. This is a Recreation vs Segregation issue. Access to our lands and all the activities it provides has been stripped form us. The Judge had no right to act on the pseudo-science justifications of a fringe element interest group to restrict recreational access to a National RECREATIONAL Park.
It's a recreational park, created for the purpose of outdoor activities, and it is not and never has been a wild life refuge, that's what Pea Island is for. You can't suddenly take a recreational park and turn it into a wild life refuge just like you couldn't suddenly turn a wild life refuge into a recreational park. One bird that is not indigenous and not endangered is on the beach and they are restricting access to EVERYONE over it. And I guarantee that once the beach is returned that humans will have no effect on the bird. I know that because you can see those birds on the beach right next to you in a few spots that are still open. They like people, they probably get more food from our tourist and trash than anywhere else. lol.
All the villages depend on this National Recreational Park being open to (humans) the public because it's the driving force for tourism and because it's just part of our natural rights to have the access that was promised to us.
Please send this out to your email lists. -Ryan Dawson
