All men watch porn, scientists find

Researchers were conducting a study comparing the views of men in their 20s who had never been exposed to pornography with regular users.

But their project stumbled at the first hurdle when they failed to find a single man who had not [been] seen it.

“We started our research seeking men in their 20s who had never consumed pornography,” said Professor Simon Louis Lajeunesse. “We couldn't find any.”

Although hampered in its original aim, the study did examined the habits of those young men who used pornography – which would appear to be all of them.

Prof Lajeunesse interviewed 20 heterosexual male university students who consumed pornography, and found on average, they first watched pornography when they were 10 years old.

Around 90 per cent of consumption was on the internet, while 10 per cent of material came from video stores.

Single men watched pornography for an average of 40 minutes, three times a week, while those in relationships watched it 1.7 times a week for around 20 minutes.

The study found that men watched pornography that matched their own image of sexuality, and quickly discarded material they found offensive or distasteful.

Prof Lajeunesse said pornography did not have a negative effect on men's sexuality.

“Not one subject had a pathological sexuality,” he said. “In fact, all of their sexual practices were quite conventional.

“Pornography hasn't changed their perception of women or their relationship, which they all want to be as harmonious and fulfilling as possible,” he added.

I never really watched porn until I wen to Japan, and that is because it's on the TVs 24/7 in the love hotels. I more or less just settled on looking at pictures before that. A naked woman is a beautiful thing if she's hot.

I had no interest in seeing sex or cock period. It seemed invasive i guess, plus it's some dude fucking the girl and not me. I don't know maybe its like I love to watch fighting but i'd never watch people kill each other.

You’re a man that didn’t watch porn and I’m a woman that did just goes to show how stupid some studies can be. A lot of porn is just gross. I think that is why we prefer Hentai cause it takes the nasty human flaw elements out of it. Most people just watch porn to keep them aroused or help get them aroused. I could careless who is fucking who in a video cause the person I will be fucking is the person next to me.

There isnt anything wrong with porn though and It doesn’t exploit women or men. It also doesn’t cause unrealistic expections either. It is healthy and natural for people to want to watch sex acts. It can be unhealthy for people that already have mental problems though. It can also be an addiction if it is causing problems in your life. Problems typically come from one person or the other in a relationship being opposed to it or religion.

Men and women coming from single parent homes are more likely to have sexually distorted views as it relates to relationships. As a whole, parents should be more concerned with the violence they allow their children to be exposed to and less concerned with seeing naked people.

We'll I didn't watch it because it wasn't available as much as I wasn't interested. I still looked at porn though, so that counts as porn. I had a subscription to playboy starting with the month they interviewed Jesse Ventura and he said an atheist could not be elected in America and the two parties system was terrible and the media was even worse. That article alone got me to READ a playboy and I saw other good libertarian things and from then on read and looked at playboy. I ended up meeting some playboy models later the same year with my GF in Florida. I grew up basically in the third world, we don't even have a theater now much less a novelty shop or prono. You can't even buy liqueur in a bar where I live and everything closes on Sunday.

I think porn is great. But I still prefer pictures to film. It's like a naked guy cancels out the girl. I'm not sure. On the straight- gay scale I'm on the extreme end of straight. girl alone girl with girl or girl with toy but no dudes. Plus most the men in porn seem to be ugly anyway even if I was a chick. I don't know maybe I just don't like ugly people, I mean not when their naked. I'd be probably just as put off if a woman was on the equivalent nasty level as some of the guys and she was nude. Yeah I think that's it because I don't mine anime at all, but all cartoons are basically perfect. I guess I just have high standards.

That "study" wasn't scientific at all. I really hate this crap where they call statistics science or correlation studies. You read the article and they interviewed a whopping 20 guys all from Canada and in a university. That's not science it's just bullshit. It's not even proper statistics.

I've made sex tapes with all my gfs, and done pretty much everything under the sun. But was never that interested in seeing someone else do it. I'd just be like, uh why don't I just go do that right now?

China pays web surfers to find porn: Report

Chinese authorities have offered rewards of up to 10,000 yuan (1,465 dollars) to Internet users who report websites that feature pornography, state media reported Sunday.

However, the censors' latest campaign against content that harms public morality appears to have encouraged Internet users to look for porn online.


Within the first 24 hours, a hotline set up Friday by Internet Illegal Information Reporting Centre was flooded with more than 500 phone calls and 13,000 online tips, the official Xinhua news agency reported.

The centre is looking for websites and mobile phone-accessible sites that contain obscene material or advertise sex products, the report said.

Rewards ranging from 1,000 yuan to 10,000 yuan will go to the first person to report each website, the centre said in a notice, adding a committee would review the tipoffs to determine what award was appropriate, Xinhua said.

China has launched several Internet crackdowns on pornography, con artists and political activists in the past.

Earlier this year China threatened to sanction major websites, including search engine giants Google and Baidu, alleging that pornography and other material that could corrupt young people was turning up in search results.

china has also banned bra advertisements. I don't get china, I thought it was a mostly atheistic country, why the religious-style prudishness on porn and women in bra's?

the chinese can make a business out of this, put porn on the net using one comp and then report it on another comp , if i was chinese I would do that for a living.

As for the claim that "all men watch porn", it's common sense that this is not true, in muslim countries (where almost everyone has a fear of a bit of ankle on display) porn is not available (unless you know someone that illegally distributes it).

That is weird. I dont think that is accurate about China. I've been to China and nudity is everywhere. But not as much as Japan.

The idea that pornography turns people into sex fiends is about as accurate as blaming violent movies and video games for violence. 99% of people who watch someone get shot on TV have no desire to go shoot people. And seeing people fuck is not going to make someone a rapist. At best it might make them masturbate. Whoopy. If you don't masturbate then something is wrong with you or you just suck at it.

Japan has the freakiest horror films and pornography in the world, and yet it is the safest industrialized country on the planet. That's even with the most populated cities which normally contribute to crime. Japan can hold 35 million in just Tokyo that's 4.5 New York Cities and have less crime than Switzerland.

Suppressing natural urges breeds the violence. Having healthy outlets is good for people.
