Arcane rituals of exorcism have been brought out into the open in Chechnya and are a subject of government policy. Local authorities have given the go ahead for plans to build a centre dedicated to demonic possession.

its fucking insane

its amazing how many people fall for such bs

my grandad wasted £400 on dubious healing herbs that made my family ill.

because i was a "naughty" child mum sent me to a faith healer in B'ham, the prick said that i was posessed by deamons, i was about 7 at the time so i believed all religious bs my family told me, the "cure" was drinking a "taveez", its a small piece of paper which contains the 99 names of allah soaked into water and then mum forced me to drink it, it tasted disgusting and it sure aint safe, I did everything I could to not drink it but mum still forced it down me. *vomit*

I also had to where a taveez as well round my neck. It looked so fucking stupid.

There are other embarresing things i could mention but i'll keep it to my self.

Some branches of Islam strongly oppose this shit, i was very sympathetic to thier views when i was a teenager, but mum went nuts about it.

I thought I had it bad until i heard about people that sold their cars/homes so that they can pay off a faith healer, and even the placebo effects of the faith healer did not work on them.

fucking hell exquisite, that is mental.

I have had faith healers a few times, but they never charged any money. (Raiki healing, increadlibly, did some good to a fractured wrist). I know it's bollocks, but it was harmless bollocks. (once I got drunk and went to a healer).

But your stuff sounds like proper scandles.

IMO stuff like Reiki is fine, its harmless, and if you believe in it then it will work, as long as it is not burning a hole in your pockets its fine.

As long as phys's mum was not performing any hazardous rituals then what she was doing is fine aswell.

But many muslim faith healers do charge money, some only charge around a fiver but some charge thousands.

When I was told I was possesed be a demon I was so scared (i was only 7 at the time) and I started to feel ill after the "diagnosis", only then did i start getting nightmares and feeling shit all the time.

Once I learnt to to think for my self I rejected this shit, but it got me into a lot of trouble because i was rejecting a lot of bs i was told as a kid.

My mum told me about a tragic case in pakistan about a girl who's parents sent her to a faith healer to get her "demon removed", he beats his clients to get the demon out (he claims that he is beating up the demon), he hit the girl so hard that she ended up dead.

There was also a case (very long time ago) of a christian couple who beat up their "possesed" 3 year old child and they ended up killing him.

My mum goes MENTAL when I diss our "local" faith healer, he's such a strange guy but my mum LOVES him. Strange thing is is that she barely knows him and has no idea about the type of person he is.

Yet she takes pride in having blind faith, she drives me mad :grr:

One faith healer in Derby told my mum to do this strange ritual, he gave a piece of paper which in arabic praised Muhammed, the thing was rolled up into like a long thin ciggerett, she was told to light it and we were made to inhale the smoke, i swear it smealt so weird and it made me and my mum feel ill, i never had any faith in this stupid ritual but my mum still did even though it made her feel worse them me! the same faith healer also got a thin long tube and started shouting prayers down my ear to "heal me", it was strange and irritating at first, but after a minute i found it weirdly relaxing.

I have met some muslims who know SO MUCH about these scams, its like they've got a degree in it.

I probably come from the most gullible family ever (including extended family), we've all been "diagnosed" as being possesed by demons and most of 'em pay for dubious cures.

My dad believes i'm only an atheist because i'm possesed. well at least he never went mad when i told him, and i'm glad he's upset with the demon and not with me.

when i was a muslim the funniest experince ever was when the alleged hair of the prophet Muhammed was brought to a mosque in sheffield, it was just one strand of hair and THOUSANDS of muslims turned up, we were told to make a wish and it will come true (ofcause the wish never came true) and the funny thing was was that this strand of hair was a brown/nearly ginger color and theres no way it could have been a strand of muhammads hair, judging from where he's from it woould either be black or dark brown, but certainly not the color I saw, but at least it was free to see it, and this strand of hair was placed around a beautiful case. But people waited for hours to see it.

Possessed by a demon lol. Where are you from? Never heard of those charged practices from my family.

Probably a profit margin behind this story as well.

do you mean country of origin? my family are from Pakistan/Kashmir.

many muslims from the indian subcontinent have such weird/suspicious beliefs (its just our family is worse then other peoples). All families have ups and downs but whenever ours has a problem the blames always put on something silly like a demon/witchcraft/evil eye.

Its usally arab muslims that strongly oppose this shit; more then anybody else.

If you go to a Pakistani Muslim wedding many families also carry out Hindu rituals, but many are too dumb to realise that they are from the hindu religion and believe that they are cultural traditions, but they're directly from the hindu religion.

Other silly rituals include imploring dead "saints", wahhabi muslims have called this practice "grave worshipping".

The most weirdest thing i've ever heard in my entire life (and even my family thought this was strange) was when a Pakistani guy told me about this shocking practice about women being forced to "marry the quran" (i kid you not), when I first heard about this practive i didn't believe him, he showed me a link to a pakistani news site and i was just speechless.

Ive heared so much about such exoticisms, even some were present at times when it was done ,but i never witnessed or came close to witnessing one.

its an issue beyond my comprehension and yes many fake healers have been caught doing false acts to profit from them, then again we live in a crazy world don't we, cant it actually exist ... maybe or maybe its another publicity stunt as well.

there is so much about our world that we cant understand that why i simply cant say all of them are hoax
