in a world where people use god as an appeal to authority to justify some sort of system of morality, its important to live as if there is no god. morality is too important, and god too powerful for these two ideas to be confused for one another. appeals to authority don't hold water, and therefore, mentioning the word "god" in any kind of moral argument destroys the notion that what you could be saying has moral truth from the perspective of the listener. 2000 years of using appeals to an authority called god hasn't worked, people need to look for other ways to create a moral world.

When I did mushrooms I thought my eyes were going into the back of my head among other things. But I do believe I came out of it with a different outlook on life. Heh!
God certainly doesn't work if they need to be worshiped. If they are some sort of a leader then they are a dictator and need to be abolished!
I have an agnostic theist view of the world. I don't believe we are an accident or consequence of molecular evolution from a primordial sludge but I do believe the blueprints of life might have some sort of intelligent design. Call it god if you want but I do not believe our brains were meant to comprehend such a thing and therefor were hardwired for religion. Religion is government when you really stop and think about it. And god could very well be an astronaut. Or the sun. The latter is the most realistic IMO.

It's kind of interesting that Harold Camping is now claiming liftoff is on October 21, 2011. Has he been reading Carl Johan Calleman? The risks of believing that the Mayan calendar ends December 21, 2012!About eight years ago John Major Jenkins and I had a debate about the meaning of the Mayan calendar end date focusing especially on whether the energies of the Long Count ends on October 28, 2011 or December 21, 2012. This still remains the most important question anybody interested in the “2012 phenomenon” is faced with, but while at the time the debate might have seemed theoretical, or even hairsplitting, it is now a question that has very significant and practical consequences as to how we relate to the future. While many would like to sweep the end date question under the rug or sit on the fence, no one can do so with their intellectual integrity intact. Since that debate Jenkins has appeared on a History Channel documentary where December 21 2012 is presented as a predetermined “doomsday” when the world is going to come to an end. I get quite a few letters, sometimes from young people that worry that the world will come to an end at this date since they have seen this documentary posted on YouTube. While most knowledgeable people would probably reject this way of presenting the Mayan calendar it is still important to ask the question who benefits from it. I feel there are indeed many people, also apart from the participants in such documentaries that benefit from the claim that the Mayan calendar ends December 21, 2012. Thus, I do not think that it is an accident that we do not hear of the October 28, 2011 date in public media. To begin with, as far as I know no one who adheres to the end date of October 28, 2011 has ever presented this as a predetermined doomsday and thus unduly associated the Mayan calendar with fear. read more: http://www.calleman.com/content/article ... f_2012.htm

"Single acts of tyranny may be ascribed to the accidental opinion of a day; but a series of oppressions, begun at a distinguished period and pursued unalterably through every change of ministers, too plainly prove a deliberate, systematic plan of reducing [a people] to slavery." ~~ Thomas Jefferson
"Power kills, absolute power kills absolutely. The more power a government has, the more it can arbitrarily make war on others and murder foreign and domestic subjects. The more that government is constrained and diffused, the less tendency there is for them to commit genocide." ~~ Art Crino

I did shrooms one time because my brother covered them in chocolate and told me it was chocolate he worked at a chocolate factory so believed him. He lied to me because he had already eaten some shrooms.
I did not se god, or anything like that. My trip was much more fascinating that saying we're one or looking at funny colors.
I was time traveling and not all at once and mind reading even things that didnt have minds and getting instant histories. I was in a store and the people on the magazine covers were moving around and there was gold light beams that shot out from the books to a person's head when a customer looked at them. A cartoon indian on a beef jerky bag had a conversation with me, told me how he got trapped on the bag for so long, took me back to his time and really wanted to explain to me this story of how his horse died and showed me the event like the earth was a movie he could control. I looked at people and saw then reverse age and then fast forward to old age to the face they have on the day they die. And they had creatures floating over them each person had a different set. And they sometimes had something that looked like bells with them but it was not a bell. no one could see the creatures. I saw a 40 foot insect on a building that no one noticed (the building wasnt real either) under the floor were pipes and flies were riding motor cycles on them the pipes fed a thing i dont know what it was something like a worm/machine/ghost
i got this notion of how stupid everyone is including myself and what a joke all of it is, it was the finniest thing ever. and image of myself projected in front of me doing exactly what I was about to do and then I followed it, their were pipes in the air too only they looked like tunnels of water or visible air and objects followed them, above my own head was a red circle elevator with no walls and a 2 inch high attendant shaped like a slime drop with holes for eyes three of them, and a cane that moved but no hand, and it touched the no wall to make the elevator move.
i cant even describe the rest of it. it was profound insight slash twisted insanity and things i just cant put words to. there were tiny machines everywhere surprised to see me see them and wizzing about like bugs, sand tickled me, and people were so stupid i had nearly uncontrollable laughter at the absurdity of their existence. and there was a headless dragon flying over the ocean and diving in and out of it, and in space there were machines looking at us and hiding, from something else but not us and things were walking in and out of portals like on heman but going right through objects in our world it was like it was all here at once but not existing in the same planes. and there were multiple time periods and a midget with a whip.
