I've never understood how any person who ever believed in Islam could change/revert to any other belief system. *shrugs*

It sounds like it's due to the good marketing strategy on the part of the Christians. It also seems like the vast majority of those who leave Islam tend to be of the Shia pursuasion. People who feel disheartened under the yoke of a certain religious rule, would be willing to believe in ANYTHING else besides it, just to escape it. You could probably sell Buddhism to them, and they'd buy it.

It would be wonderful if there were countries that didnt indoctrinate their children with any belief but let them grow up and figure things out on their own of course still guide. We are all born atheists. Depending on which country you grow up, determines what you will believe just like it determines what language you will speak. Some adventurous people branch out and learn other things.

It's not going to happen, as long as a religious upbringing is associated with a moral upbringing.

We can do it on an individual level. I do with my son. You can teach your child not to steal, kill etc. without introducing them to mythical stories OR you can use mythical stories the same way we can learn lessons through poetry. We just don’t elevate the stories to divinity.
