Guys, I was talking with a friend of mine when a thought sprang into my mind. Can it be that any religion controlls our instincts thus controlling us. it works like that, chrisitianity makes people believe in Jesus scaring them with hell or claiming that there'll be some reward for their virtues. and most of the virtues claim that people should be absolutely loyal to their ruler whoever it is. worked out quite well with medieval peasants.

Yes, exactly. it's controlling us and has been used for thousands of years to control people.

I know, they're mentally unstable people to me. Or weak minded. But whatever works for them as long as they don't try to impose it on me. I cared about religion for a long time. It took me a while to deprogram and realize it's a waste of time, effort and money in some cases. I still find religions interesting and often wonder, skeptically, if there's more life out there after death.

Phys wrote: religions can coexist greed and greedy people cant Seems like an oxymoron at this point in time. All major religions are greedy and influenced by outside sources (money). Individual religious people can coexist I think but the corporatism involved with major religions cannot.
