And this was right after a conversation about her faith in the christian god and holding her crucifix. If you mised that you're just in denial. The made an opening scene with a guy committing suicide via some magic fruit and his body falls into some water and turns into new DNA. Then they start a seperate movie. It was just terible i know they cut 30 minues but that is their own fault. They should have screened it.

I thought it was obvious that the infected guy was the one who caused her to get "pregnant" with that facehugger when he had sex with her. To call that a "virgin birth" is almost like calling the chestburster in the "Alien" movie a "virgin birth". I agree that there was a lot of Christian innuendo in the movie, I just don't think it's really accurate to call that a "virgin birth", even if it's in reference to it.

you're in denial. The robot infected the guy, and then he had sex with her. She had never been able to get pregnant before (by a human). They talked about it as well as Christianity right before they fucked. Then she gets pregnant and is gonna have a baby-something in only 5 hours. It was not born, she went and cut it out of herself. Its immaculate conception since her DNA was altered to allow her to produce an offspring. I mean how much more do you need, they talk about her faith and her cross and how she can't get pregnant and then wow she does and has her "baby" on Christmas day (later it saves her). It is absolutely intentional symbolism for the birth of Christ story and playing off the space-jesus story that Waylen ripped off to make the film. On the planet of Leviticus.

chest buster in alien wasn't born on Christmas nor result from changing a sterile woman into one who could get pregnant, wasn't formed in her womb and didn't follow a conversation about how the christian god created all life.

I am not saying that it wasn't Christian symbolism. I just don't understand why you are calling it an immaculate conception in the movie, when it originated from outside of her and there is no mystery as to where it came from. I thought the concept of an immaculate conception was that of a conception without the physical involvement of anything external. If that isn't what an immaculate conception is, then I am curious as to how it would be defined.

The Christian symbolism throughout the movie seemed to only be there because the main character in the movie was Christian. Had the main character had a different religion, it seems likely that the symbolism would have been in reference to it instead. And obviously, with a main character that has no religion, then it is likely that there would be little to no religious symbolism.

Also, in terms of names with a religious connotation, what about the name "Prometheus", which is the name of a Titan from Greek mythology? That doesn't seem to be consistent with the Christian innuendo trend of the movie.

The movie just left too many questions and sub plots un answered. It must have been too long and the editor just cut it up and butchered it. Or the writers are retards.

Although I really enjoyed it, the logic and story weren't a strong point of the movie and they seem to have been more-or-less sacrificed for aesthetics and style.

Its Xmas, they did have immaculate conception, each manner of death was because each character broke a rule in the book of leviticus.

The facehugger that she conceived, was the result of the infected guy (who later turned into a zombie) copulating with her. By copulating with her, his infection created that facehugger in her womb. Since he was infected before he copulated with her, then it only makes sense that his alien infection would have done something to her after they "exchanged fluids". I was actually expecting it at that point.

Also, how are sure that the robot knew what he was going to do? I thought he was just experimenting to see what happens.



I am not that dense and I have read your posts. I am not really disputing any of those points as I just think that the Christian theme of the movie is related to the main character of the movie being a Christian. The Christian theme wouldn't make sense otherwise and neither would the main character.
