i might also add that satanism is a biproduct of chriatianity, unwanted yes.

the puritans were English but came over from Holland. they already had religious freedom in Holland and had already been exiled from England. they did not go to the US fro religious freedom they left holland because they felt the Dutch were too soft on children. the wanted to go to Jamestown but were way off course and landed at Plymouth 17 years after Jamestown was established and 37 years after the English colony that was abandoned by King James and assimilated with the Croatoan Indians on Hatteras Island North Carolina.

The 12 or so women killed in Salem was almost noting. The story acts as a softball for what really went down. Over 500 thousand people in Europe were tried as witches tortured into confession and killed in Europe. An unumbered sum more were just killed without a trial or record.

But you say witch trials people think oh yeh I read about that in 9th grade about the Salem bla bla bla no that is not even the surface of it. You don't know about the witch trials at then if that is the first thing to come to mind.

This was not some freak occurrence. People actually believed in this bullshit and half a million were murdered over it all of them innocent since we all know that there are so such things as witches.

Thanks religion.

Neat/sick read :o

I still give candy to kids. 8) I ignore all the shit behind Halloween and treat it like a commercial holiday. I still appreciate the idea of giving out candy to kids who don't get treats that often.

"Upon getting wet, the psychotropic drug would be absorbed through vaginal fluids or even prolonged exposure to the thin skin of the labia. Sometimes two at a time on the same broom. "

Great bit of editorialising! if you ever find yourself out of work Ry, you should write porn.

Good stuff Ry.

The knowledge of ethnobotanicals and herbs in general was passed down, studied and practiced by the common people ("pagans"), especially women. Women who practiced paganism (secretly) used trance and sexuality to "join" with the Horned God, who wasn't necessarily seen as an actual being with a personality (like the gods in other traditions), but as the kosmic source of male power in its rawest essence. The sexuality ritual had a purpose: to unite the highest essence of male and female within the participant, which is said to bring great power and wisdom. Ethnobotanicals and hallucinogens opened the mind so that the walls or veils to the deeper self were lowered and kosmic forces could more easily be accessed. Ecstasy, as anyone who has ever had really good sex knows, can be a doorway to the kosmic dance, the union of male and female essence in its purest, most self-less expression. (Tantra)

hold on now. witches in this country if found guilty there land went to the accuser.....ta da that is all it was.

This was the case in Medieval Europe as well. Women inherited their husband's property, so widows were tagged as witches so the Church could get the property.

Of course there were real practicing witches and shamans, just as there are now. Paganism (earth spirituality) exists wherever there are humans. The power mongers of the Burning Times twisted and demonized witches into scary evil doers (like terrorists lol) and then used them as justification for anything and everything. They terrorized the masses into a superstitious stupor and a collective panic, where neighbors began pointing fingers at each other and everything that went wrong was blamed on some poor unpopular woman who was out of favor, and who was probably not even a pagan to begin with! (the ones doing the pointing and the blaming were ACTUALLY the evil doers - just as the ones doing it now are actually the terrorists!)

There have always been worshipers of dark forces. In Medieval times that was the Church and the ignorant followers of the Church (sounds familiar) - it was NOT the pagan types. The real witches, who had to practice in secret (still do), were more aligned with Science (Nature) than Religion. Their cosmology was based on nature and was earthy and REAL, containing no dogma, only stories and lore meant to open the mind to "magic" (conscious flowing with the forces of nature). There was no demand for belief in entities. The forces of nature could be related to directly, without any BELIEF at all. (obviously there were traditions of pagans who were more aligned with dark forces and sorcery, but this was not the majority of pagans)

I'm not so sure about the ergot oil on the labia though. Herbal oils are very, very potent and I would guess that would sting like hell. I make herbal products and only very mild herbs can be used topically in this way. I'll have to look that one up - but it sounds fucking painful to me.

The broom aspect of your story is true though. Naked wild women fucking brooms in the woods and dancing in ecstasy around the fire....this would raise eyebrows NOW. That is truly wicked shit.

I agree bring back the tradition minus the killing. Go find some masturbating Irish girls who howl at the moon. Who said history was dull?
