He's wrong. Britain was never in danger of losing WWI, France was after the Eastern front fell but not after the Americans intervened.
But the British had millions of troops in France at that time. If their front had collapsed completely(which it almost did) then they would have had to sue for peace, and the Germans would set the terms. That's what I meant about losing the war. See this quote from Lloyd George
