Marriage is man made gibberish if you love one another and live together whats the need for external validation? atheist don't get it, nor any other group religious people hate, and gays will never get it either. 50% of all marriages end in divorce. its a CONTRACT that is all it is and it doesn't need to to be validated by anyone other than the two people involved in it.

What this is REALLY about is a way of asking are you pro gay or not. thats it. very little to nothing to do with marriage its just a way of showing what side your on. its a way for the bigots to thump the bible and everyone else to see clearly why the US always gets two bozos as their choices for president.

i don't think it is good decent or moral to tell other people how to live. Gay people getting married has no more effects on straight marriage than gay people kissing effects straight people kissing. It does't matter. Look they are already gay, they already fuck each other and everything else and there is not a thing you can do about it. Ive been with my missus now for 10yrs with out the BS and we have probably out lasted most marriages these days. Its another way to get in your emotions and to tax you more then you get divorced and that costs $ its all about f#@king money. If you must then Blow your money on a good holiday to celebrate your vows to each other. I bet the Vatican Pope gets a nice chunk of their love.

Aside from that I agree with you Ry on the silliness of marriage needing to be validated by the state or some religious order for it to be legitimate, but I think there is a lot more going on here.

I've been married for 18yrs. I like the legal rights if either one of us are in an accident, die, tax exemptions, and the family structure, my spouse is my family not just emotionally but legally. My love has more rights than my sister or any other family member.

yeah but phys those aren't rights because people could do all of those things anyway all it is is an exclusion of everyone else your not married to. you can have a legal contract anyway without the state saying who is allowed to contract with whom. But for the government to create different tax, hospital visitation etc. its all bullshit. There should not be any special taxes or extra taxes for married people over single people.

When my roommate was in the hospital with a punctured lung (he was adopted by the way) and his family was in another state, they let both myself and my gf visit him to talk to him and cheer him up, bring him movies and stuff. Im not sure this you can't go visit a person in a hospital unless your related thing is really true. it might be hollywood. Maybe its only if the person is unconscious.

Friends CAN visit people in the hospital but friends canNOT make medical decision for the patients if so needed i.e. medications, blood transfusion or any other decision in fact according to HIPAA nurses can't even talk about you medical condition to anyone other than your spouse unless you sign a form and allow it.

You can get into a legal contract with anyone but it is a business partner it isn’t family. My husband and I have the same last name as does our son. Everything we have is both of ours. If you wanted to get into a contract, every new adventure you would have to modify the legal contract but we dont cause its understood since we are married.
