COMMENT : When it comes to winning votes most politicians have had their consciences surgically removed. They will do and say anything to win your vote and then throw you to the wolves when it suits them. All thinking Australians understand our borders must be protected and we understand the immoral trade in human beings for profit by the people smugglers must be stopped. What we don't accept to any degree is politicians playing with peoples lives and playing with such a serious issue for political purposes, which is polite speak for trying to win your vote. Julia Gillard and Tony Abbott are not fit people to lead Australia. Both are stubborn mules who lust for power. We want leadership, not ego driven political ambition at the expense of the Nation.

COMMENT: When a citizen wants to enlist in the Military they are required to undergo psychological tests, when a job applicant applies for a job they are required to go to an interview and submit a resume of their experience and abilities, when somebody wants to enlist in the Police Forces they too must undergo psychological tests, and the same modus operandi applies across the board in many areas of the Australian work force, and this testing is particularly important in the Military, Police, security services, and major areas of public service. Yet, politicians, who are feted with extraordinary financial and social privileges and power, and who make decisions which affect the lives of all Australians every day, are never tested to see if they have the needed psychological soundness to make these decisions and lead the Nation. It is way past time all candidates at all elections were tested to ensure we stop seeing the dunderheads, fools and idiots elected who have been elected, particularly over the last 40 years. On another vein, if politicians and Prime Ministers want to see how important they are just have a look at Mr Whitlam who now abides in a nursing home for the aged. In the end politicians are just human beings like the rest of us, and at the end of the day they will end up where we end up.

If the hyperbole doesn't get them, reality will http://www.theage.com.au/opinion/politi ... 20vb5.html
