I understand that the Tea Parties were a mixed bag with lots of warmongering republicans there, but there were also a lot people who were protesting about legitimate things like taxes and the emerging police state. For Janeane Garofalo to characterize them as just racists is misleading and once again takes the focus away from the real issues. She's just another stupid party hack. Most liberals are hypocrites.

Tell the Right and Left Wing tribal idiots to stick it. The Tea parties are not about blaming just one wing of the party. It's about stopping the whole system, killing the fed and ending the pointless wars for Israel.

We can't let the right wing idiots attach their faces to a grass roots movement that has been in the works for years. The original concept of the "Tea Party" was for RON PAUL and it was also about taxation without representation. We don't want to pay taxes that are being used to finance trillion dollar wars that we never wanted to start with. Sure we don't want bailouts either and we hate Obama too but that in no way means that we fell for the McCain bullshit of calling Obama the anti-Christ or worse yet racism. Is this all the Liberals have left to use? Are they so desperate that they are trying the Israeli tactic of claiming anyone against them is a racist?

Obama is continuing ALL of Bush's war and then some. He's kept Nafta, he's kept torture, just yesterday he stated that he would not prosecute those in the CIA guilty of torture and torture programs, and most of all he has spent over 4 trillion dollars in 4 months and it has done nothing to stimulate the economy all he did was made money tight and bailed out billionaires so that they could keep their way of life.

You're wrong about Garafalo. I'm pretty sure she's an Independent. She's also been vocal about protesting the Iraq war before it began and other issues.

Like you said, the Tea Party was a mixed bag. They weren't all bad. They were mostly Republicans bitter after the election. I've heard right wingers like Sean Hannity praising the event. I'm sure some of them were racists who hate Obama and immigrants for only one reason.

I'm not wrong about her. Did you not watch the fucking video of her talking? I know she was against the war. But NOW she is quiet about it because Obama is in charge. What kind of deranged over socialized liberal would blame tea parties on "racism" as if people couldn't hate Obama for any other reason. Like the same reasons she hated Bush. No I think she's a Democrat, I once heard her say Obama or Hilary Clinton, either one is good as long as we beat the republicans. Also she was on a totally liberal talk radio show called The Majority Report I think. She's hypocrite just like the republicans, when they are out of power they talk almost like libertarians (talk is cheap, think Obama) but when they get into power you see it was just a cynical attempt to get supporters and attack the other party. Right now some republican are allegedly getting a spine, the voters never seem to learn.

I'm really tired of MSNBC calling everyone who protest our taxes being used to pay off billionaires and continue unjust wars, a bunch of nut sack suckers. They overplayed the tea-bag bit like a bunch of middle school kids who first learned the meaning of a new swear word.

They went right after the People in the protest and not after the message. That's purely an ad hominen attack. They labeled the Tea Party participants as nut sucking kooks and racist and they ignored the idea that Americans across the the spectrum might just not like paying for billionaires' gambling habits and ongoing wars of choice.

What I hate the most is how the tea party thing has been so heavily co-opted and how the establishment left goes right along with it and labels us all as basically neocons now when we're the people who are actually anti-war, and they are either silent or supportive of continued imperialism under Obama. The whole mainstream media is worthless, we shouldn't be suprised by this shit. Olbermann has always been bad, I've known it for sure ever since he insulted Ron Paul for wanting to get rid of the IRS in the debates. Everyone on tv is bad, there are no exceptions. Lou Dobbs is bad as well. Some people in the truth movement think that he's good cause he's exposed the North American Union but I've also heard him help cheerlead fucking attacking Iran. How is that 'good'? The only person on tv who's good at all is this Judge Napolitano guy (not sure if that's how his name is spelled). But I'm not sure that he's even on the regular Fox News I think that his show might only be on their website. If it is on the actual channel then it's on in the middle of the day when they know not that many people are watching. Also Max Keiser is decent, but he's not even on BBC anymore so we'll see if they put him back on or not, he claims they're going to. I heard him say something anti-gun on Alex Jones though so I don't know.

Yeah, she was too sweeping in her "racist" characterization; she is missing out on the legitimate conservative/libertarian component of this movement; and the main reason for this that she's pissed off. She's watched eight years of Bush go by, she earns her living in la la land; and she's just letting fly with what she thinks after having to hold it in for so long.

Fox News (and Republican hacks like Newt Gingrich) have clearly hijacked the "tea party" protests, (especially from a distance). Ron Paul's people are saying this. And you have to admit that anyone who watches FOX is missing a screw or two and is getting stupider as they watch.

So yeah, criticise her unfair characterization; but don't treat her like the enemy. Educate her, show her a more-complete picture. She's not as entrenched as the paid hacks at FOX. She'd be open to hearing a reasonable criticism. Yet so long as people attack her with the same venom, then we're never going to get past this left/right divide.

I think she was alluding to the deeper, psychology button-pushing that FOX and co. does, stoking the flames of fear, insecurity; and deep down inside, race is still an issue in America.

It may not be so obvious today, and she was wrong to characterize ALL the people at these protests as "rednecks and racists," but race WILL prove to be a fundamental tool of the fascist coup, and FOX is continually pushing the tentacles of it everyday.

I also feel for Ry's indignation at her intellectual snootiness, characterizing the protesters as of a low-order; but hey, ever been at a large-scale peace demo in the last ten years?
You know, the one on Feb. 15th 2003 that saw 1 million people in the streets of New York, Washington, and 600,000 in San Francisco? If you had, then you'd already know what it means to be characterized as "loony" "idiotic" "leftists" etc.

So deal with it.

Cut her some slack. If she's anti-war, anti-corporate, then don't treat her as the enemy. Treat her as a part-casuality of the "left-right" divide. Show her a little more patience and maturity than the shills at FOX and she (and other "left" "liberals") might be impressed by what you have to say.

I'm mostly just mad that the tea party thing has been so co-opted and is not being recognized as such but instead liberals are playing into it to and acting like Rush Limbaugh and co. started the whole thing, when the truth is that they hate libertarianism and freedom. On the other hand it shows the effect that the Ron Paul candidacy had and that the Constitutionalist/libertarian movement is having. It kind of reminds me in a crude way of when a wrestling company called ECW that came out of Philadelphia that was a lot more hardcore and violent than WWF and WCW started to get really big in the late 90's. And then the two bigger companies tried to emulate the extreme style of ECW but could never go as far as they did because they were too mainstream. Anyone who's familiar with what I'm talking about might find that comparison kind of funny. But anyway since this is real life and not pro-wrestling it's a lot different. Actually the mainstream politicial scene is a lot like pro-wrestling in that it's fake but we're not.

But Jeanene Garafolo did say that 9/11 was an inside job on Conan O'Brien before so I thought she was good. I always knew Olbermann was mostly a shill but she's a little bit more geniune than him but she really was wrong about this.

She's not Jewish and she doesn't support Israel. She spoke out against Israel on Real Time with Bill Maher after the CIA guy went on and said that Israel isn't worth one American life or penny which offended Bill. She's said a lot of good stuff in the past like that 9/11 was an inside job on Conan O'Brien. She's just too partisan and was really wrong and ignorant about this. But most of these people at the tea parties aren't patriotic Americans. The tea party thing has been co-opted by the Republican party now and it's mostly partisan Republicans who suffer from the same mental block as Garofalo, only they're worse in my opinion because they're gung ho for imperialism and evil. However the fact that the Republican party is now having to bend to the growing popularity of the libertarian movement and emulate it in order to stay relevant presents an oppurtunity for informed people to try to wake up mainline Republicans to the full spectrum of what's going on, with the Federal Reserve and everything.

Yeah she has said some good things but just look at some of her statements and what they show. Asked who she preferred preferred Hilary Clinton or Barack Obama she said paraphrasing "either one it doesn't matter they are both fine." Now anyone with any clue at all about what is going on (and remember she was on liberal talk show so she was more aware of the issues than most people) would never say something like this. Argueably it is certainly possible that before Obama was elected and we learned more about him you could say he might be ok. But Clinton is an entirely different matter, she was completely silent about the Iraq sanctions that killed 500,000 children, the bombing of civilians in Serbia, Waco, etc. etc. etc. etc. In fact she openly supported much of this. It just does not wash with me that any decent person knowing these things (and she must have known some of it) could still support that person for president.

What she said about the tea parties was not just wrong, it was something only a very uninformed person could say innocently, and she is very political, believe me she knows that some of the dissent from the tea parties was about taxes and the war and civil liberties. Add to that the fact that playing the race card looks suspiciously like the ruling classes agenda of making this about race while avoiding the real issues. She says a few good things which act as cover for her to make much more relevant attacks against true patriots.

Celebrities are almost always brainwashed bleeding heart liberals with no common sense or reason i.e. they automatically support Obama without even looking into his voting record. Just throw out your television and become the media, that's the only way around this complete douchebaggery.
